Season's Readings- What is it??? 

So, Season's Readings is our holiday programming wrap (mostly for children and families)   that is held Nov-Dec.  Last year there was an owl theme and the focused book associated  with the programming was owl related.  To wrap the programming, we added owl related  programming alongside traditional holiday programming.  For example, the Audubon society came out and did an owl presentation, yet we still had Santa visits, holiday and owl crafts.  
This year the theme or focus will be dance.  Our focus book is Firebird by Misty Copeland  and Christopher Myers.  Therefore, we are looking at visits from the Houston Ballet, various  holiday dance performances, and dance crafts (doesn't have to be only ballet, but              preferably a holiday inspired dance).  We will also still have traditional holiday crafts, Santa visits and story-times.  Please feel free to comment here with programming ideas.

    From Sally Bates (on programming related to Misty Copeland, author of Firebird): There is also an adult biography of her (Life in Motion) if people want to make a display, as well as the other books we have on dance including the picture book by Debbie Allen, who is another African American ballerina (Dancing in the Wings) and a book that includes Lauren Anderson (Meet the Dancers).
    I have also let the adult selectors know about the theme so they can keep it in mind.
