Storytime Resources

What are your favorite storytime resources? What books or websites do you go to for ideas for storytime?

Some of my favorites are:

Baby Time:
Babies in the Library! by Jane Marino

Toddler Time:
Artsy Toddler Storytimes: a Year's Worth of Ready-To-Go Programming by Carol Garnett Hopkins

Preschool Storytime:
Kathy Ross Crafts Letter Shapes by Kathy Ross (for alphabet themed craft ideas, each craft uses a letter of the alphabet)

Websites:
Storytime Katie www.storytimekatie.com

Of course Pinterest! Don't forget to check out our children's Pinterest boards https://www.pinterest.com/houstonkidspins/, and let Sara Pope know if you'd like to help us pin to our different boards.

What are your favorite resources? Share them in the comments!

  2. One site I love, particularly for reasoned debates on hot-topic storytime issues, is
    http://storytimeunderground.org/
They also have a great facebook page, where people can post questions and get feedback from other service providers across the globe!

  4. There a couple of good books in our system that are pretty recent and I like to look to for ideas:

Preschool favorites : 35 storytimes kids love by Briggs, Diane.

A year in the story room : ready-to-use programs for children by Roginski, Dawn Rochelle.

Another source I forget about and am then always suprised by the good ideas, simple songs and crafts is, Mailbox : the idea magazine for teachers.
