If you don't want to do the activity included in the kit, you can select another activity; however, you will need to prep and provide those materials yourself. You also don't have to do all of the songs and rhymes listed-you can choose which you would like to do.
For Very
Ready Reading Program, you must do an opening song or rhyme (same from week to
week), a closing song or rhyme (same from week to week), at least 1 thematic
song and 1 thematic rhyme or fingerplay from the binder (you can do more if you
wish). If you aren't able to get through all 3 books, that's ok. You must also
do an activity (either the one that is included in the kit, or you can do your
own age-appropriate activity). You must include 3 early literacy tips. You must
give caregivers a Caregiver Tip Sheet to take home. If you have questions about
anything, or need training in Very Ready Reading Program please feel free to
ask me!
I will be including a quick survey in each kit for the person presenting the storytime to fill out. I'm interested in what books, rhymes, songs and materials included in the kit you used, and if you liked or didn't like them. I also want to know what suggestions you have to improve the kits-do you have a better book for the theme that we should include, or a suggestion for a visual prop that isn't a flannel board? Or maybe you have a better pattern for a flannel board than the one that is included in the kit?
Request your kits from the left-hand sidebar under Kit Request Links today!
Thanks!
